Item buckets issue?

What is exactly the issue with using this module with item buckets? We are very interested in this module but are using item buckets as well. Maybe something can be fixed?

Because this module overrides the same Kernel API as Item Buckets (Item Buckets is not a Kernel, it is a Core component). To make it compatible you need to re-implement the module's logic on a top of Item Bucket API.
