I made a suggestion on the ATM8 Volcanoblock for this, and was directed to come here and make a suggestion for it.
Basically, in IndustrialCraft2 Classic, Iron, Copper, etc Dusts can be crafted in a 3x3 to create Dust Blocks. This is useful for storage, and is also useful for straight-up smelting the ores and compressing the inputs, allowing you to put the equivalent of 576 metal dust in a vanilla furnace (and per slot of hopper, etc) instead of merely 64.
also reduces the amount of space that dust takes up in chests, etc. I am proposing that this be done for, well, All The Ores.
would also request that if this becomes a thing, that it not follow the IC2C path of "1 dust block=9 ingots" but instead a dust block becomes a metal block, keeping the storage consolidation.
