Introduction

This installation guide will explain how to install extension Gerber X3/X2 Format Support to Visual Studio Code instance. Guide assumes that you have already installed your instance of Visual Studio Code. If you still need help with Visual Studio Code, please refer to this guide.

1. Open Visual Studio Code

You don't have to necessarily open new Visual Studio Code window if you already have one open.

2. Open Extensions: Marketplace

On the leftmost vertical bar (assuming default Visual Studio configuration) there is a icon consisting of four boxes, click it with left mouse button. This should open EXTENSIONS side menu.

3. Search for Gerber X3/X2 Format Support

In top part of extensions menu there should be a search text field. Enter Gerber X3/X2 Format Support in it. After filling text field, Gerber X3/X2 Format Support extension should appear in a list below search field.

4. Install Gerber X3/X2 Format Support

Press Install button in right bottom corner of tile in extension list.

Alternatively you may press on extension tile to open Marketplace page of Gerber X3/X2 Format Support and press Install there.

5. Make sure installation succeeded

Now Install button should disappear, which will indicate that extension was correctly installed.
