I can't find any discussion/documentation thus far of how we're supposed to use post categories/tags. Currently the only post up on the blog has a "misc" attached to it upon display. The markdown file for the post makes no mention of categories or tags.

My questions:

  • What is the process for adding tags/categories to a post? Is it a field in the markdown file?
  • Can we change the blog to just display no tag, instead of 'misc', when one is not specified?
  • Does this theme/pelican in general support multiple tags? Does it distinguish between tags and categorization (which I am using interchangeably in this issue)?
  • Is there any way to add a 'categories' drop down menu (or sidebar, but that's uglier) to let readers browse through categories/tags?

I also think we should consider coming up with a main set of tags to use, via discussion on the oscblog list, although I don't want to say we can't use other tags.
