Seems like there is support for Debian but its not listed in the metadata.json file.
I say that there seems to be support as I can see code supporting apt. I haven't tried it on a Debian or Ubuntu system but hopefully there is some further advice available?

We are using this module for a large number of Debian 10 and Ubuntu 18.04 hosts, but as of now, only for the "submit" side of things. It is working really well there, and we keep the core parts (configuring repos etc.) maintained here.
However, we did not test using this OS as execute nodes or for collectors / negotiators yet. So while I certainly expect it to also work well for thes use cases (after all, the main difference is gone once packages are installed), it has not been tested (at least not by me) yet for these machine roles.
Does that help? Positive feedback (in case you test) is of course welcome. We also plan to use our Debian desktop nodes as executed nodes at some point, so testing this role is also on our list.
