Suspicious color setting

At the Menu constructor there is some weird condition. As the user can setup color values freely this may corrupt the experience in case red channel is empty?

if (backColor.R == 0)
{
    backColor = Color.White;
}

BTW: the colorConverter doesn't seem to be ever used, see here
