Currently, it is unclear what to refer to a possible schedule.
Should this be referred to as an event or a schedule, since the commands in the application refer to such ocurrances as schedules?

"events" and "schedules" are interchangeable terms for the user guide.

I disagree
Reason for disagreement: Sure, they are interchangeable, but is it indicated in the user guide that they are interchangeable. Even if it were to be mentioned that "event" and "schedule" are interchangeable, the issue is that it can be misleading and confusing; which can be easily avoided by using the same terminology. There was no specified reason for having two different terms and intending them to be used interchangeably, especially since schedule and event are terms which to a new user can have different meanings. Ultimately, this affects the clarity of the user guide, though still not significantly, due to which I have labelled this as a very low severity bug.
