When you pip install sciunit, you get a command line program sciunit as well, and can do sciunit run, sciunit run-nb, etc. which can then run models and test from scripts, as defined by a simple config file (which mostly points to the locations of python files). This is all defined here. Let me know if you are interested in re-using this functionality.
