MLGT-Malay: definitions include Examples and Notes

Term 168 in Malay includes Example inside the definition.

"Contoh" means "Example".

And it seems that many Malay entries are not corresponding to the term (i.e. the definitions do not match the English)

e.g. Term ID 619 "pixel"

Malay:

The definition part is complete different:

• English: "smallest element of a digital image to which attributes are assigned"
• Malay (Google Translate): "Abbreviation of picture element. The smallest image element that the monitor screen can display. The pixel's location is determined by its coordinates (rows, columns). High resolution image has large number of pixels. For example, a 1024 x 768 resolution screen has 786,432 pixels, which is 1024 pixels and 768 pixels. If one pixel monochrome screen is formed by one dot. If the one pixel color screen is made up of three dots (red, green, blue)."

@ronaldtse thank you for picking this up. while i see it is an issue, the TMG is not responsible for the translations nor the QA/QC of the translated content. while we can use tools like "Google Translate" to facilitate in our understanding, i think it could become a never-ending task to try and reformat translated content that may be different than expected.

i think we need to expand the "About" page on the geolexica web site to make more of this clear. i will provide some updated text (as another issue).

at the time of the next release we can specify a more strict set of QA/QC procedures and request the MBs to rechecked their previous active (meaning non-superseded/non-retired) entries, but, in my opinion, at this time we should just leave it. however, if you were to find that all of the records in a translated sheet exhibited a pattern of incorrectness, then we should take that sheet "off-line" and request the respective MB to recheck the sheet; yet i would not encourage you to spend time searching for those issues. we could hope that native language users or the MBs themselves would alert us to such issues through feedback on the site.

Indeed. We don't want to go down that path, but issues with the MLGT are reported here so that the NB responsible for the Malay MLGT sheet could keep track of existing issues.
