Versatile Volume Data (VVD) Viewer is an interactive rendering tool for visualizing and analyzing confocal microscopy data. This wiki explains the features of VVDViewer and provides tips for getting the most out of the software. Using the menu to the right you can learn to:
- Navigate all the windows, tools, menus, and settings available in VVDViewer.
- View and manipulate volume data to optimize visualization.
- Make figures and movies
- Perform analyses such as segmentation and particle detection
VVDViewer combines rendering of multi-channel volume data and polygon mesh (surface) data and allows the properties of each channel and dataset to be adjusted quickly and independently. The data can then be combined into a single 3D image showing the relationship between individually labeled structures (e.g., neurons) without background noise. The tool is designed for neurobiologists to better visualize confocal samples stained with fluorescent markers.
With VVDViewer, you get excellent rendering quality with three different render modes (composite, depth, layer), interactive 3D segmentation, and 3D visualization of huge chunked datasets (>100GB).
