Because this is an opensource project and multiple people will work on this. Shouldn't there be a design language? So that the whole site will have the same design. Otherwise it will look ugly if every page is different

Yes this will be the better option

My suggestion on this issue is we adopt Material Design.
At least it is very well documented at their website and we interact with it almost daily.

It was made by Google and later OSS'd.

Seems like a good idea. Maybe @KalleHallden should approve?

It might be a good idea to create some sort of style guide, to decide what specific sort of styling should be adopted.
