I am unable to install python3 -m pip install btchip-python on Ubuntu 24.04. However, btchip-python can still be installed on Ubuntu 22.04. I have tried various items to install btchip-python on Ubuntu 24.04 but to no avail; see also issue spesmilo/electrum#9370. Seemingly this issue is a regression.
Electrum 4.5.8 requires the btchip-python library, otherwise it will not let me connect my Ledger Nano S.
Since https://github.com/LedgerHQ/btchip-python was archived from Oct 16 2024 and will likely not be changed to fix this regression, should electrum still require the btchip-python library? If not, which libraries from ledger should electrum require now instead/ what changes should electrum make?
