[RFE] Better error message for null values in contract fields

This is a new feature

Brief Description *

When creating a contract, if a field if left empty (null) a null point exception is thrown, complete with the usual NPE popup. It would be nice if an error message would appear that said something along the lines of "You left the field empty; put a value in the field and try again".
