This project is a great use case for a framework. Joe suggested Angular. We should look into it to see if it offers some helpful data wrangling functionality and if it makes updating the UI with filter results easier than pure JS (almost certainly it does).

I feel like this could hold up development. First release code base will not be complicated and should be easily refactored into a framework structure. Can we table this for release 0.2?
