  • OS Platform and Distribution (e.g., Linux Ubuntu 16.04):Ubuntu 20.04
  • Python version:3.6.13
  • Installed using virtualenv? pip? conda?:pip
  • CUDA/cuDNN version:11.4
  • GPU model and memory:RTX 3090

Describe the problem
I encountered an error running the command 'pip install --user nvidia-tensorflow[horovod]'
I have updated pip and installed python = 3.6. I also installed nvidia-pyindex 1.0.1 first, but I still have this error(I have tried py3.8 and it didn't work either)

Provide the exact sequence of commands / steps that you executed before running into the problem
pip install nvidia-pyindex
Successfully built nvidia-pyindex
Installing collected packages: nvidia-pyindex
Successfully installed nvidia-pyindex-1.0.1

I've seen similar errors fixed by updating pip as follows:

python3 -mpip install --upgrade pip
