Included is a text file of the geojson of the protectorate. In looking at the map, I see that another baron (Sir Michael) has South Dakota claimed. My claim predates his, not sure what your procedure is. Let me know if you need a peerage committee ruling :)
ITM, Sir Ryan. Just to clarify, you were Knighted as a Baron?
I've never been able to get official rules from the peerage committee, but I would say you have claim to that protectorate and can choose to allow Sir Michael's overlapping claim if you wish. If he's been upgraded higher than Baron since then, however, he keeps his entire claim (I've been allowing overlapping claims for different levels).
I won't say no to an official ruling from the peerage committee if you can get one!
I think technically I was knighted on 976 but it was missed which led to a black knighting on 977 and then what seemed like a reknighting and baron-ing in one on 978. It was during the 10th anniversary mayhem.
I'll shoot the committee an email and see if we can get some guidance.
ITM!
