Monero Support

According to this IRC log, some of you have been in touch with @rbrunner7 re: Monero support. I contacted @rbrunner7 directly this morning but havent heard from him yet. Is there interest from the multiwallet developper, and eventually for OpenBazaar to adopt Monero as an official currency ?

I have a both a multiwallet OpenBazaar store and a Monero shop on the Web. So, Monero in OpenBazaar would simplify my life a lot.

So @rbrunner7 got back to me. He is going to analyze the feasibility of Monero integration and report on it. As stated in the IRC log, his timeframe is more or less 3 weeks.

I will leave this open for now and will be back when the report is out.

Any news on the integration? Unfortunately it's hard to find any useful information, but especially now with Haven it would be huge to be able to accept Monero in your OB store since like you can see on volumes in Bisq or even OpenBazaar Monero listings there is a huge demand in transacting privately.

Have you already seen my PR Basic Monero support ready for assessment from June, with some discussion about it?

I plan to adjust that code to the new OpenBazaar release (the one that will support Ethereum) that is approaching, and then hopefully things will get on the move again.

Another tidbit: Recently code was merged that will adjust the QR codes in the OpenBazaar desktop client so they are able to accomodate those awfully long XMR addresses and not only short Bitcoin or Bitcoin-style addresses. It was influenced by my analysis of the requirements. You find the commit here.

Things take time, so keep hope :)

Thank you for this update, especially the QR code merge gives me some hope to see progress going on at least a bit! And thanks for planning an updated code when ETH is implemented, since that should give enough of an abstraction layer already to the OB code, after they right now only support direct forks from the Bitcoin codebase.
TBH can't wait to use Haven on my mobile to buy stuff with Monero!
