Request from IPPOG for contacting other cosmic-ray projects
Thought to be a reasonable starting point to curate information about existing cosmic-ray projects
Rather than circulating e-mail with questions in body, a Google Form should be created and circulated to all project contacts identified by Charles et al.
Seek feedback from Open Cosmics list to created form before circulating
APPEC interest: how to proceed?
Quoting parts of e-mail from Charles Timmermans:
‘I have been contacted by Frank Linde, head of APPEC [http://www.appec.org/], about if we can work together on “enabling cosmic rays worldwide”.’
‘It would be nice to work with APPEC to create a portal that is useful for high school students and teachers. In my (personal) opinion OpenCosmics has an appealing open source model to work with, but needs more than that to also make it useful for outreach.’
Discussion feedback:
Open Cosmics can work with APPEC and learn from their experience and contacts. Ignore if they get bureaucratic.
Need to have a way to get across to people depending on what the audience might be. Have better pages describing what difference audiences might want to do.
Open Cosmics model (and website) are good enough to serve as portal, with links to Zenodo for data/tools as needed. No need to build separate website.
