Hi i downloaded the file but it seems its not running for me. I used to use it before but it got deleted. I turned off my windows defender and firewall and downloaded it but after extracting the compressed file when I click on the setup it does not run. No message pops either for any errors. Any fix??

I am going to assume Windows Defender is blocking the program from launching. Make sure to click on the More Info link (or whatever it is called) and click the Run Anyway button. If nothing else, rename that directory and then use 7-Zip to extract the zip file and Windows Defender should not get in the way.

To clarify for people who want to spread BS, the message is regarding the program coming from an "Unknown Publisher" as the program is not digitally signed. You have to tell Windows to allow the program to run the first time around. I am a hobo so I have no way to get the program signed properly; the only releases that were signed were because I got Corona bucks in 2021 IIRC.

I checked my secondary install and it works on my end. Did you extract all the contents of the archive? Particularly, does DS4Windows.dll exist in the installation folder? DS4Windows.exe only serves as a bootstrap to load .NET and assembly dependencies. Most of the program code lies in DS4Windows.dll. That way of packaging programs has been a thing since around .NET Core I think; it has definitely been that way since .NET 5.

Also, maybe you can check your Logs folder where you have DS4Windows installed and see if there is any error message printed there.

This is not how you should ask for help. You should either make an issue or, preferably, get help on a forum or discord server first and only come here in the case that the issue can't be resolved.

I thought getting a Nacon controller working as an HID device required some additional steps (driver wise) before it could be used in DS4Windows at all. I do not own one so I am not sure.

Unlikely.

A 32 bit version has existed for years. They are listed as the x86 builds as that standard is used in Visual Studio and most Linux package managers when referring to code compiled for a 32 bit CPU. I do not encourage running it unless you are actually using a 32 bit CPU in your device. You will lose out on some optimizations that are available by running a native 64 bit program.
