Ecosystems will use OpenID Federation in different ways.

Metadata that is mandatory in one ecosystem can be forbidden or meaningless in another.

The OpenID Federation implementation might support different profiles by, e.g., validating the metadata according to the profile's rules.

How should the code required for profile-specific validation become a part of an implementation?

Via pull requests so that the main repository will contain all profiles once the pull requests are approved?
Add-ons that you can write yourself and include when building the system?
Plugins that you can install into a system without the need to re-build?
