Because

When the production robots.txt file is deployed to demo instances, then bots will crawl them and they'll pollute our search results.

Done when

As a deployer of AAPB and Open Vault
I can optionally set the robots.txt file to disallow crawling from bots and engines
in order to avoid our demo sites showing up in search results.
