Half-Life won't launch, blinks black screen and exits (Whisky 2.3.4)

Description

See title. Half-Life (as installed through Steam, the GoldSrc version) used to work in Whisky but now I can't get it to launch at all.

Hardware is an M1 MBP.

Steps to reproduce

1. Install Steam.
2. Install Half-Life.
3. Attempt to launch it.
