Right now, if you copy the code block, you also copy the line numbers making it difficult to copy and paste code into your environment.

What you've actually done in your screenshot, is selected else up to function, and then all the line numbers which is in the element prior to the code. It's a bit of a weird interface selection.. You'll select all the line numbers if your mouse moves over that element too

Additionally, double clicking it selects-all the code.

In this example, I've selected up to function and then stopped.

It's really easy to select too much. If your mouse is on line 627 and half-way inside the gutter (~8px left of function ...), it'll grab the line numbers, even though you're still ~8px away from 627.

I've seen other tools that didn't have that problem.

The code sections also have the feature where if you click into them it turns into a textarea (probably for easier copying) but it usually changes my selection point unexpectedly, so it would be nice to use something that won't need that workaround.

News uses the Code Syntax Block for code, which can have line numbers & they're not selectable. It also has an accessible color scheme (though it's dark, if we wanted a light mode it would need customization).
