Future of codimd_ynh : hedgedoc vs. hackmd-open-source-edition ? #44
Comments
What a mess… I'd like to wait until the situation is a bit clarified, and to see which project is evolving in the best way, not only on the feature side but also in its way to include the community (I don't wanna fall into another collabora-like naming issue or similar… ;). |

Do you have some link about that ? I missed that information, that's interesting :) (Referencing #57 here) |
Have a look to the forum : https://community.hedgedoc.org/t/regarding-version-2-0/350 |
Unfortunately, this link is just people arguing about the name and no differences aside from the license are actually mentioned. I can't find anywhere what the actual differences between hackmd, codimd, and hedgedoc are. |
Following a discussion on the chat, I'm opening this issue :
Turns out that there are currently "two" CodiMD
Related issue about naming if you want to read the whole drama : hackmdio/codimd#1219 ( I haven't really took the time to read the whole thing, the end of the thread seem to suggest the Hack MD team isn't so friendly but would need more time to really have an opinion)
The user I was originally discussing this was interested in hackmd-open-source-edition because it has more features.
