Custom roles for user management

First of all: The SSO and user settings are really great. I love them.

For me homarr would be really great if its possible to greate custom roles and also autogenerate them from SSO.
If the dashboards and/or the elements inside the dashboard could be bound to user roles then homarr would be ultra flexible.
I want to use it for my intranet and it should show and hide content depending on the user role.

Hi, this will be possible in an upcoming version. Currently, there are only the three default roles that you can use.

Yes, this will be possible in 1.0. See #1993. We already have a public alpha version out available for testing.

Would this include an option for different users seeing different boards? In my view that would be the most useful feature of multiple users. Many thanks for your efforts!

Starting from 1.0, you'll only see boards that you have access to unless your role overrides this (administrator will see all boards).
You can make individual users administrators.

As documented in #1993, it will be released when it's ready. See Discord for the early adopters program.
Upgrade will depend on your installation method but we will facilitate migration as much as possible
