As subject states, doesn't do anything when Chrome is in Reader Mode. Which is a big problem because using Reader Mode gets rid of all the extraneous ads and other junk on the page that are not wanted in the created ePub.

I usually remove ads and whatevers by hand via the css style editor. The reader mode is not supported, there are other issues already opened (and a discussion on the PR section).
Sadly, I don't think this extension is maintained anymore....
I correct by myself the issues I found using it...
In Firefox there is (still) a bug that prevents a web ext to access data in reader modehttps://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1286387 ... I don't know about Chrome, I'll have to look into it.
