As found in ejeschke/ginga#539 using an older template, some [metadata] in setup.cfg does not show up in PyPi. People using this new "cookie cutter" template and distributing package on PyPi should note if any metadata is missing and move them back to setup.py.

I guess the easiest way is to compare with Astropy's own metadata, e.g. https://pypi.python.org/pypi/astropy/2.0.1 . However, Astropy's setup.cfg does not have any [metadata] section at all.
