Hello,

not an error, but an improvement: in Moodle 3.9 in Boost Theme after switching to course format "Kickstart" in the nav drawer the titles "Kickstart" will be shown multiple times. It probably comes from the old course format settings (eg theme format with 7 titles).

It would be nice if some select course format "Kickstart", the titles will be not displayed in nav drawer.

Hi @AntonT76,

That's true - if you change the course format from another course format, existing ("orphaned") sections are visible and named "kickstart".

We did not see this as a problem because usually, kickstart would be used in new courses, not existing ones. We recommend to use kickstart as the default course format, and it should actually not be used after the initial template application or course import (pro).

It can theoretically be done, but I don't see a usecase for it. Can you please explain in which scenario it makes sense to switch an existing course to kickstart?

Anyway, to resolve this issue, we could simply hide the course index, it's not really necessary in kickstart anyway.

If you need a quick fix, it could be done using probably a single line of css.

Best
Stefan

Hi @stefanscholz ,

thank you for this info. Right, normally kickstart will be used in new courses. In our scenario most of the courses will be created by a campus management system which will use a topic format template with a few topics - it's not a problem for us to use an "empty" template. So resolving this issue is not necessary.
