Entity framework core blocking call

I'm getting this call everywhere which I believe is leading to thread starvation:

The code I have in the method is simply:

It's correctly detecting this lock block here: https://github.com/aspnet/EntityFrameworkCore/blob/49f17933f895da27e229bb40334d7875f78ab8f7/src/EFCore/Query/Internal/MethodInfoBasedNodeTypeRegistryFactory.cs#L70

I couldn't say if this would lead to what you are seeing, it looks like fine grained locking so I would be surprised.
