The purpose of a private room is that it cannot be accessed by any user, only by counselors and coordinators for chats between each other. Meaning that the room should be visible in the room list. Currently, creating a private room will not display it in the room list at all.

How it should be:

  • All the rooms must be visible to counselors/coordinators.
  • Group rooms must be visible to users as well. (this is okay, works)
  • One to one rooms must not be visible to users - accessed trough widget. (this is okay, works)

Please let know if you need more details.

We originally agreed to make this as it is right now, where you have to have someone send you the link to a private room to enter it. Changing it would require adding another permissions check.

We would want the private rooms to be visible as well. It's also much easier for counselors to join a private training room using a "join button" for example, rather than copying and pasting the link part.
