sysSVM2 is a new version of sysSVM from KCL (available from https://github.com/ciccalab/sysSVM) with code based on the original version.
sysSVM2 is distributed under the terms of the CRICK Non-commercial Licence Agreement v 2.0.
The CRICK Non-commercial Licence Agreement v 2.0. is a free of charge license that grants not-for-profit organisation (e.g., charities, universities, research institutes, hospitals) the right to use and/or modify sysSVM2 for educational, research or evaluation purposes only and prohibits any commercial use.

CRICK Non-commercial Licence Agreement v 2.0.
This Agreement is made by and between the Licensor and the Licensee as defined and identified below.
1. Definitions
In this Agreement (“the Agreement”) the following words shall have the following meanings:
Authors shall mean Joel Nulsen, Francesca Ciccarelli, Athanasios Mourikis.
Commencement Date shall be the date when the Software is made available to the Licensee.
Licensee shall mean a Not-for-Profit Organisation (such as, but not restricted to, Universities, Research Institutes, Hospitals, Charities) wishing to take a licence to use the Software in accordance with these terms and conditions.
Licensor shall mean The Francis Crick Institute Limited, a registered charity in England and Wales no. 1140062 and a company registered in England and Wales no.06885462) with its registered office at 1 Midland Road, London, NW1 1AT.
Software shall mean the sysSVM2 to which the Agreement applies.
2. Licence
2.1. The Licensor grants the Licensee for the duration of this Agreement, a free of charge, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Software for any non-commercial purpose only, including teaching and research at educational institutions, research at not-for-profit research institutions and for personal not-for-profit use, in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement. Non-commercial use expressly excludes any profit-making or commercial activities, including without limitation sale, licence, manufacture or development of commercial products, use in commercially-sponsored research, provision of consulting service, use for or on behalf of any commercial entity, and use in research where a commercial party obtains rights to research results or any other benefit. Any use of the Software for any purpose other than non-commercial research shall automatically terminate this Licence.
2.2. The Licensee is permitted to load the Software into and use it on computers at a single site, with the exception that a copy may be kept at another site for backup purposes only.
2.3. The Licensee is not permitted:
(a) to use or copy the Software other than as permitted by this Licence;
(b) except as expressly permitted by this Agreement and save to the extent and in the circumstances expressly required to be permitted by law, to rent, lease, sub license, loan, copy, modify, adapt, merge, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or create derivative works based on the whole or any part of the Software or its associated documentation or use, reproduce or deal in the Software or any part thereof in any way.
3. Redistribution and modifications
3.1. The Licensee may reproduce and distribute copies of the Software with or without modifications, in source format only and provided that any and every distribution is accompanied by an unmodified copy of this Licence and that the following copyright notice is always displayed in an obvious manner: Copyright © Crick and Joel Nulsen/Francesca Ciccarelli/Athanasios Mourikis 2020. All rights reserved.
3.2 In the case where the Software has been modified, any distribution must include prominent notices indicating which files have been changed. The Licensee is allowed perform modifications to the Software. For the purpose of clarity, Derivative Works (A "Derivative Work" is a work that is a modification of, enhancement to, derived from, or based upon the Software) are allowed provided that all use of any such Derivative Work is subject to the terms of this License.
3.3. Redistribution, with or without being Derivative Works, is permitted (subject to the limitations in the disclaimer below) provided that the redistribution will be made under the same terms and conditions as in this License, and the Licensee will not grant other rights to the Software that are different from those provided by this License.
4. Duration
This Agreement is effective until the Licensee terminates it by destroying the Software and its documentation together with all copies. The Licence will terminate immediately without notice by the Licensor if the Licensee fails to comply with the terms and conditions of this Agreement. Upon termination of this Licence, the Licensee shall immediately discontinue all use of the Software provided hereunder, and destroy the original and all copies of all such Software. All of the Licensee’s obligations under this Agreement shall survive the termination of the Licence.
5. Warranties
The Licensor makes no representations about the suitability, use, or performance of this software or about any content or information made accessible by the software, for any purpose. The software is provided "as is," without express or implied warranties including, but not limited to, any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement of third party rights with respect to the software. the licensor is not obligated to support or issue updates to the software or provide any type of maintenance services.
6. Limitation on Liability
This Software is provided free of charge and, accordingly, the Licensor shall not be liable under any theory for any damages suffered by you or any user of the Software. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL LICENSOR BE LIABLE TO THE LICENSEE OR ANY OTHER PERSON FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY CHARACTER INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF GOODWILL, WORK STOPPAGE, COMPUTER FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION, OR ANY AND ALL OTHER ECONOMIC LOSS OR COMMERCIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THIS SOFTWARE, EVEN IF LICENSOR SHALL HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY THIRD-PARTY CLAIMS.
7. Indemnity
The Licensee (as the case may be) shall indemnify the Licensors and/or Authors against all third party claims that may be asserted against or suffered by the Licensors and/or Authors and which relate to use of the Software by the Licensee or the Recipient.
8. Ownership
The Software, all Derivative Works, and the accompanying documentation are licensed, not sold, to the Licensee. The Software is a proprietary product of the Licensor and is protected under the United Kingdom copyright and/or patent laws and international treaty revisions. The Licensor retains all rights not specifically granted to you hereunder, including ownership of the Software and all copyrights, trade secrets, or other intellectual property rights in the Software, Derivative Works and any accompanying information. NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED LICENCES TO ANY PARTY'S PATENT RIGHTS ARE GRANTED BY THIS LICENCE.
9. Acknowledgements
The Licensee agrees to acknowledge the sysSVM2 research project with appropriate citations in any publication or presentation containing research results obtained in whole or in part through the use of the Software. Specifically, the Licensee agrees to cite:

10. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by English law.
11. Entire Agreement
This Agreement contains the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof, and it shall not be modified or amended except by the authors of the License, that reserve the right to periodically publish updates or new versions of the Agreement, each with a separate number.
