There were two variables last year, ISTI and ISTI_MJJ. I’m pretty sure ISTI is May through August average temperature and IST_MJJ is May, June, July averaged. So I’m thinking ISTI is not a possible variable this year(i.e., there was no August temp data)?

Hi Sara,
That is correct; the heading at the top of that table says that it is May through July but it is called ISTI, which could be confusing in the forecasting realm where we had two versions of ISTI. Moving forward this version of ISTI will likely become the norm because August surveys will likely be limited to Stephens Passage in the near term.

Yes, ISTI is now ISTI_MJJ. I created the ISTI_MJJ variable last year since I was exploring the how important August data were to the forecast. What I found was that removing August from the time series did not change the relationship with CPUE and harvest, and actually improved the forecast model a bit.
