HYD 6000 EP - configurable battery charging from grid

Hello,

I would like to be able to control my "HYD 6000 EP" in order to program the battery to charge from the grid overnight whenever I want.

Will it be possible to do this with your plugin in the future, or will I have to use RS232 ?

Hi @wixaw, of course it should be possible. The only thing needed is to know the right registers in the modbus which controls it.

so if I understood correctly I don't have modbus, because I don't have RS232 yet, and so I would like to be able to make the commands in IP

No no no, this integration also uses modbus but through solarman stick logger. It just provides the connection to the modbus of the inverter. 😉

maybe a code that configures something on the inverter that could inspire me, because currently I see in your plugin only reading

Here is where I stand with my initial tests:

I found this document ( sheet 2 : register ) which is ultra-comprehensive, and even though it is marked SOFAR G3, my HYD6000EP seems to match for the values I have modified.

Via "Solarman: Read Holding Registers (Modbus Function Code 3)"
By reading 4368, I get the value changing from 0 to 4 when I change it via the inverter.

If I set it to 1, it is not the correct name "Time-of-use electricity price model" but "mode temps utilisaton."
It works, as I can set it to charge from 00h to 06h from Monday to Friday.

However, writing via "Solarman: Write Holding Register (Modbus Function Code 6)" does not work.
If I want to set 4368 to 1 or 4, I get "Failed to execute action solarman.write_holding_register. V5 frame does not contain a valid Modbus RTU frame."

It's not about that library at all. The csv is just list of registers for you to try out...

For writing you have to use Modbus function Code 16.

So 4368 turns on 1 and off 0 charging of the battery from the grid?

And which profile are you using btw?

no not really, I based myself on the operation of the sofar2mqtt plugin
0 = automatic mode
1 = Time-of-use Mode

and I directly configured this mode on the inverter the recharge period (time, SOC, charge, effective date, day of the week)
We could do with these commands to configure everything with modbus:

Time-of-use Mode
If electricity is more expensive in high demand time (peak rate) & electricity is much cheaper in low demand time (off-peak rate). You can select an off-peak period to charge your battery. Outside the off-peakcharge period, inverter is working in Auto Mode. If your family normally go to work/school on weekends & stay at home on weekends, which means the home electricity consumption is much higher on weekends . Thus, you need to store some cheap electricity on weekends only. This is possible using our Time-of-use mode. In summer, if your PV system can produce more electricity than your homeelectricity consumption. Then you don’t need to set an off-peak charge period to charge your battery in summer at all. You can select an effective date (normallywinter) for Time-of-use mode in this case. Outside the effective date, inverter is working in Auto Mode. You can set multiple Time-of-use rules to meet your more complex requirement. Right now we support 4 rules maximum (rule 0/1/2/3)
