Step 1: Drink some water, inject yourself with inaprovaline, shotgun an entire cup of dylovene. Literally anything. It doesn't quite matter.
Step 2: take a blood sample
Step 3: load sample into spectrometer and use it.

The same thing with test tubes in which there was some kind of liquid
