BUG REPORT: Adding Discussion to page removes option to add media to the page #328

Adding the ~~ DISCUSSION ~~ tag to any page makes the main page edit window display the DISCUSSION plugin tool bar if you have the plugin setting "allow wiki syntax in comments" ticked.

This means that adding images or files to pages is not possible if the you have discussions on for that page and you need to allow links in the discussion too.

How to reproduce
Add discussion tag to page
ensure that allow wiki syntax in comments is ticked
edit main page and try to add an image, you will see the tool bar displayed for the page is not the page toolbar but the limited discussion tool bar
change the setting to not allow wiki syntax in comments
edit the page and you will see the page edit tool bar is back to the normal tool bar

Expected action
No matter what the setting for the discussion allowing wiki syntax the page edit tool bar should remain unchanged.

Problem
I have a page that requires users to upload/attach report documents as well as allow users to discuss the reports at the bottom of the page. They can't upload media if discussions support wiki syntax.

I try to reproduce it. I did not succeed. Is this still happening with the latest version?

I added: ~~DISCUSSION~~ to an a page
some settings tested:

  • plugin»discussion»automatic: disabled and auto
  • plugin»discussion»wikisyntaxok: enabled, next disabled, next enabled again
