Count tags per taggroup/category instead of only per tag

Hi there,

we're tagging our sites in a "namespace style" like this {{tag>region:subregion}}. My hope was that I could filter the tags and produce a page where all "region"-tags would be counted with something like this {{count>region:+ &.}}. This won't work. Is it somehow possible to achive this with the current implementation of count?
If not I would like to treat this issue as a feature request. 👍
