I downloaded the .dmg to my mac and double clicked on it. IIRC, the first time I did not see a window appear and the additional icon in the upper right of my mac toolbar (which I now know to call the "system tray") was too subtle for me to notice. The second time I did see a window that looked like the following screenshot:

Screen Shot 2021-02-24 at 6 06 02 PM

When I clicked on the AGORIC icon in the upper left corner it took me to the agoric.com home page rendered in this window but without any way to get back that I could find. I then closed the window and relaunched the app, still not having noticed the icon in the system tray.

Without reading it, the text shown on that screenshot has the look of debug output for a developer to read, not for a user to read, so I didn't read it until @michaelfig verbally suggested I should.

It suggests a URL to use to go the the right channel within Discord. However the link text is not clickable. Trying to select-copy it was somewhat frustrating because it was still scrolling while I was trying to select.

Finally copying the URL and pasting it into my browser, Discord complained about an invalid invitation. Finally @michaelfig verbally instructed me to go to the Agoric discord faucet channel and paste the text that my pledger window suggested I paste into discord. Being right there, @michaelfig approved it promptly and everything since then worked beautifully.

If @michaelfig had not been there and the approval process had taken awhile, I don't know if I would have understood that I'm waiting for human action rather than the software being stuck.

@erights This does not have an area label that is covered by our weekly tech / planning meetings. Can you assign the proper label? We cover: agd, agoric-cosmos, amm, core economy, cosmic-swingset, endo, getrun, governance, installation-bundling, metering, run-protocol, staking, swingset, swingset-runner, token economy, ui, wallet, zoe, zoe contract

@erights For proper project planning and tracking, this needs an area label covered by one of our weekly planning meetings. Please pick the appropriate one from: agd, agoric-cli, agoric-cosmos, amm, core economy, cosmic-swingset, endo, ertp, getrun, governance, installation-bundling, metering, oracle, pegasus, run-protocol, ses, staking, swingset, swingset-runner, tc39, token economy, tooling, ui, wallet, xsnap, zoe, zoe contract
