Modal popups

A common use-case is to create a modal window, make this possible through some mechanism - a custom ModalWindow view, or extend the Window view. Sometimes the modal area is to cover the entire canvas but sometimes it is to be restricted in a sub-region, e.g. a tab. This modal popup window should be restricted to the region (e.g. masked / not movable beyond the bounds).
