Lag spikes in firefox on ubuntu

First noticed when trying to open links with middle click.

Any press of the middle mouse button that would activate the main feature of this addon freezes the browser. Lasts about long enough for the system to popup a "this program is not responding message" roughly half the time. Disabling this addon immediately made the problem vanish.

Does this happen on every page?
Did you enabled Use middle click to "paste" content of the clipboard option in the Options page?
Try one experiment - in the Options page / Advanced / Performance section, enable the "Don't lock iframes" option to see if it helps.
