How can I use this with a local plugin (eg. not published to GitHub)?

I'm looking for a way to source a plugin from a local folder. Is this a feature or, if it isn't, would it be considered?

Ideally, I want to take advantage of lazy-loading.

Possible solutions

Use Vim's plugin system: This doesn't support lazy-loading.

Use another package manager for Neovim: I couldn't find one that was as slick and fast as Lazy.

you can do that in two ways using lazy, one is to use the dir key in you plugin spec where you can specify the directory path. The other is to use the dev = true in your plugin spec and also configure the dev directory in lazy config. These are mentioned in the Readme and in the docs.
