"Loss" of information while converting back to SBML2 from SBML3 #1

Dear developers,

Conversion back and forth of CellDesigner XML files works fine without giving any error.
However, after converting back from SBML Level 3 to Level 2 and opening it in CellDesigner 4.4, some modifications occur:

  • Names of the species are replaced by their IDs (but they are still kept in the model)
  • Colors of the species are lost BUT colors of reactions are kept.
  • All species are transformed into Proteins (no SBO terms were given in the original XML SBML2 file).
  • The layout of reactions changes a little bit (anchor points are misplaced from the original) and the arrow target becomes the same for all incoming/outgoing reactions.
  • Some reactions are doubled? Gives multiple arrows instead of one.
  • It becomes impossible to modify and select species in CellDesigner (change annotations, move them around, etc.) BUT it works for reactions.

Images showing the original part of the network (in SBML2) and the converted back (SBML2->SBML3->SBML2) can be found in the attachment.

Hope this helps!
