If you use a Voice of the Ancestors to have a character A attached to character B as an attachment, and you later use the Voice of the Ancestors to attach a different character C to character B, the new character C will be attached, character A will no longer be attached, but the stats of A will still be applied instead of C. I found this to be the case when I "upgraded" from a Matsu Berserker to a Samurai of Integrity. I didn't get the +Political stat.

If you try to attach a unique character that's already in play, the effect will fail - however, the cost reduction effect sticks around. Found this by using a second Voice of the Ancestors to attach a valid target, which caused me to get a 2 fate discount. Didn't test, but I'm sure the discount will also apply to events, attachments, etc after you fizzle a Voice trigger.
