When I hover in the upper-right, where the person icon is, there is a "Login" box that appears, but I can't really click on it.
Maybe I don't need to, just click on the person icon, but I tried twice to click on it, but that doesn't work.
The first time I went through and authorized, it failed after the nuclear-wait icon spun a bit.
The second time it succeeded. I don't think that I can do anything on the authors.ietf.org site as a non-administrator, I think that the login will be confusing to newbies.

Why not just remove that button from the top-right, and the four people that I suspect need to login can just know to visit https://authors.ietf.org/login ?

This is basic wikijs behavior. See

and

What you are asking is really a feature request change for that project.

That "Login" button is not a button but a hover message related to the person icon. I agree it is confusing and will pass that one.
