@SilviaFazzo Can you please tell us a bit more about what you mean by a "heuristic use" of CollateX? How would a heuristic use of a collation tool differ (with respect to the tool, not to what the researcher does with the output) from other uses?

Dear Interedition/Collatex team

indeed any use of CollateX is per se heuristic, of differences first of all.

I mean that there is a longstanding crucial question in Aristotle studies which is related to the ms tradition and I suggest to solve it once for all with a workflow whose first step is CollateX, than Annotation system (I am myself the Principal Annotator) and and EVT.
But the most delicate part is on CollateX, moreover whereas I am in pretty good contact with the authors of Euporia and of EVT, CollateX as I perceive it is a giant, it is quite obviously first ranked but you one does not have direct experience on it it is difficult to describe into detail the needed work passages within the Research Proposal. In my next message, in the case this is of interest for you I explain the thing with a Stemma attached . Meanwhile thanks for being in contact

Silvia

@SilviaFazzo I would recommend you take a look at the Collation Editor project located at https://github.com/itsee-birmingham/standalone_collation_editor which is an editor/user interface that allows one to create a critical apparatus using CollateX and the Stemmaweb project located at https://stemmaweb.net which can take the collation generated by CollateX and produce a stemma.
