If the map does disappear after a smaller version has been loaded for the fraction of a second, press key D to switch dark mode to reload the image. Sometimes this helps. Sometimes not.

Uploaded a jpg to the IA yesterday of 10500 x 7350 pixels: https://archive.org/details/lametrobikemap
Then tried the IIIF service which seemed to work well right away but then started throwing the following errors for tile fetches:

500 Internal Server Error
Java heap space
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
