At present, we append iRODS's config directory to sys.path using the interpreter:

irods_rule_engine_plugin_python/src/main.cpp

Line 358 in a27f63c

std::string exec_str = "import sys\nsys.path.append('" + etc_irods_path.generic_string() + "')";

Let's investigate doing this via PyConfig instead:
