Card doesn't show devices as being "on".

I've configured a bunch of cards, in a very barebones basic way (literally just choosing the entity) and also created a normal media player card alongside of them.
When the devices are on (which they are now... see screenshot attached) there is nothing on the card implying that the devices are actually on (unless you click on them, which isn't ideal).

as you can see, the normal media card goes orange. Looking at the example pictures on all of this mini media player card, it definitely shows something to imply that it is "on". (I don't actually care if it is a different colour... it would be nice though... but anything saying that it is on in some way would be great).

Any advise? Bug? just me?
