Export raw HTML from markdown

I'm having a difficult time exporting a block of raw HTML when translating an org file into markdown via ox-pandoc.

As an example:

#+title: Example File
...
<p>Some HTML I want exported as-is</p>

** An org-mode heading
...

I want that section of the file to read, after exporting, like:

<p>Some HTML I want exported as-is</p>

## An org-mode heading

I've tried:

• #+begin_export html: Wraps the HTML with ```html

I'll update here as I continue to try things.
