Create release

It would be really helpful for future maintainers if you created a code release for this repository.

It will involve creating a .tar.gz archive of the code, the creation of a semantic versioning number, and then releasing it on GitHub.

@eddsalkield Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Yes, you're absolutely correct. I've been meaning to set up some GitHub Actions workflows for this repo to do some basic things like validate PRs by running the tests, checking formatting, linting, etc, as well as handling releases. I'd be happy to review a PR if you're interested in working on that. Otherwise, I'll put it on my to-do list.
