After creating 2 test accounts in the SAFE Mail app and successfully sending back and forth between the two, after closing and reopening the app, it does trigger the Peruse browser to ask my permission, which I grant, then the SAFE Mail app sits indefinitely on

"### Initialising application

Authorizing Application"

This happens on both my desktop and my laptop (Windows 10 Pro N and Windows 10 Home)

Hi @csharpner , can you please provide some more info like which version of the email app and SAFE Browser are you using?
By any chance, have you also created some WebIDs with the WebID Mgr. webapp?
Also, can you please set the env var DEBUG=true and run the email app again from that console to see what you get in the dev tools console after authorising it from the browser?

Came across this issue yesterday so did a little digging as per @bochaco 's previous post.

  • The last version of the browser it works with is Peruse 0.7.0.
  • The tutorial app hangs on the Initialising application screen when it is launched, no matter if it has been authorised previously, or has not been authorised.
  • From looking at the dev tools activity there are no errors reported in dev tools for either the mail tutorial app or the browser.
  • I have created WebIDs in the past (Gabriel hints above that this may be related)

Screenshot taken when I tried to connect, with mail app already authorised - no feedback in devtools:
